The hotel

Le Val Duchesse is a family-owned hotel.

In the 1950s, Clémence, grandmother of the current owners, comes from Belgium and falls for the charms of the French Riviera, then running through its artistic golden era.

She decised to purchase a typical villa of the 1930s and builds what is to become Le Val Duchesse. From the 1960s to the 1990s, the villa is extended.

During the 1990s, the villa is renovated by her grandchildren, Véronique and her husband Andréas, Pascal and his wife Julie.

They restore the hotel while respecting its style, but without forgetting about modernity and comfort. Faithful to its original architecture, the villa is modernised. Wanting to keep the spirit of the villa, the family ensures to preserve the charm from the 1960s by adding an artistic touch, so typical of the French Riviera.

The hotel, renovated in an avant-garde and vintage style (in the 1990s, recycled items weren't in vogue yet), was decorated in an original and artistic style, using wood, metal, cement, paint and waxed concrete. They open up the space to get a natural and refined result.

By renovating the architecture of the building, they try to preserve the authentic spirit of this place that has welcomed many guests and high society!

The use of cement tiles, ironwork, small windows, concrete floors and a modern renovation of the bathrooms bring an extra charming touch to the hotel.

Their idea is to keep their authentic identity and to avoid standardisation. All is chosen following their own taste, and not subject to trends. Therefore, the hotel is quite exceptional.

Each studio or apartment has its own style and atmosphere. The objects and wall decorations have been bargain-hunted and mingled with a modern design. The owners wish to keep a warm holiday setting, in a French Riviera spirit.

You'll be finding old posters of Nice and Cannes, earthenware of Vallauris, bistrot chairs and sketches on tha walls.

Jean Cocteau, Picasso, William Klein and Le Corbusier have winked at us.

Tribute was also paid to Jacques Tati, to his poetic world; funny and so typical French.

The charming Hotel Le Val Duchesse will charm you with a style from the sixties, a imple, but refined decoration, as well as all the comfort and facilities you need.
